The members and supporters of Archery on Norfolk Island are looking forward
to the arrival of all our comrades from the region joining us this, the
first time archery has ever been successfully held in the South Pacific
Games.

The programme has been designed to enable all standards of archer to feel
comfortable, and compete confidently alongside those who may be more
experienced, and compete in the realms of both the Target and Field Archery
disciplines.

The Target events are being held on a new oval, that has been acquired for
the purpose of hosting the archery target events, while the field event is
being held in the beautiful bush and rolling countryside of the Melanesian
Mission at Headstone.

A Field event has been included in the programme for all to experience 3D,
marked and unmarked events, so that hopefully, archers from other island
nations will take the experience home and add another dimension, a rather
testing but enjoyable dimension, to archery in their country. Even though
this is a medal event, it has been included as a social trial event, to be
followed by the medal presentations.

On Tuesday, 11th December the club will be hosting
The Norfolk Island Archery Open Field Tournament
After the seriousness of the Mini Games is over, why not compete in a 24
target field event with the empahsis on fellowship and enjoyment followed by
a get-together, drinks and fish nibbles.

This is intended to enable all the team coaches, officials, supporters and
spectators who do archery to compete against others from around the region,
so that everyone can Ohave a shootą and enjoy fellowship while on Norfolk.
